A comprehensive list of apps that will help enhance your productivity!
This extended lockdown has the power to hamper productivity. Now that we all work from home, there are so many factors that could dampen your levels of productivity and motivation to work. But, just because you’re working from home, doesn’t mean you can’t keep a check on yourself. With so many new apps, you can keep a check on your work, you can work out and even learn new recipes. When in doubt remember there’s an app for everything!
Here is a list of apps that can help you get organized:
1. Slack
Slack is a messaging platform that is designed for teams to communicate flawlessly. So now since everything is online, and we all work from home, it can get confusing if you communicate through apps like WhatsApp. So, you can get Slack, for the sole purpose of business communication. It is cost-effective and prevents the cluttering of your other communication platforms.
We all have a working phone with an inbuilt calendar. But the cool part about the Calendar app is that it has features that will help you organize yourself to the max. It organizes your schedule so that you can arrange a meeting without a clash. Some of their features are: Calendar integrates with all of your calendars (Google Calendar, Outlook, etc.) to keep everything in one place. Synced events: Create events in Calendar or create them in your other calendar apps — they’ll always be synced.
Easy scheduling: Schedule team meetings without the usual email back and forth.
Analytics: Calendar provides analytics reports to help you boost productivity.
Meeting transcriptions: Automatic transcripts of your meeting.
3. Toggl
Sometimes you don’t realize how much time you spend on a certain piece of work. Toggl is the perfect time management app. It analyses how much time you spend on a piece of work. You can track how much time you spend on a piece of work according to which you can bill your client for it. It also helps boost your profile.
4. Pocket
Pocket is an app that helps you save interesting articles and reading material. There might be times you come across some cool read but you can’t read it immediately, so Pocket makes sure you can. Simply save the page (URL-based), assign a category if you want, and you’ll build a collection of resources in your Pocket account. The app essentially turns into a feed of things you want/need to read, learn, or use for later.
5. Google Drive
Since sometimes you have to share large files between co-workers or even information that applies to everyone. So, instead of emailing people separately, you can create a drive on google and just share your work. The rest of your team can be given access to it. Thus, it makes communication easier.
6. Gmail
It’s important to get a separate Gmail app for yourself. There is a chance that if you have multiple email addresses, your inbox might get cluttered. So, that’s why you need to get another email app to keep track of your work email.
7. Asana
Asana is a task management app. If your employer assigns you tasks, they can do so on Asana. It helps you keep track of the work you have to do and it gives you reminders as well. It’s like an online checklist. You will have an organized and methodological work schedule.
8. Zapier
It’s a tool that reduces the amount you repeatedly switch between work essential apps. It saves a lot of time for teams. You can link the apps you frequently use on this and it automates the app so you don’t have to constantly switch between these apps. It shares the data from all the apps that you have linked, so you have one comprehensive place where all your work can be stored.
9. Forest
It is essentially an app designed to reduce your phone time, or the amount of time you spend on any screen. When you want to focus, you plant a “tree” and the more time you spend away from your phone/tablet, the more it grows. Leave the app and your tree dies. If you spend enough time away from your phone you can grow an entire forest. Best of all, you can earn virtual coins by staying focused on your tasks and use these to grow real-life trees through the Forest app. This helps increase productivity.
10. Serene
Serene is an app that helps you organize the way you spend time. It encourages you to work in spurts or so-called ‘power bursts’. Since studies show that 8-hour workday individuals are only productive for 2 hours and 53 minutes, this app works to ensure that you work to the best of your ability. This is done by scheduling work tasks as short power sessions and taking regular breaks to keep fatigue at bay.
So hopefully with the help of these apps you can get back into your work groove. If there are any other apps you use that we haven’t mentioned, please feel free to drop a comment in the box below so we can check them out.
