2020 is finally ending. Here is why we are eagerly waiting for 2021 to come!
We have all hated the year 2020, and why shouldn’t we? Not only did it take away our freedom to roam about the city and hang out with our people, but also it took away so many talented artists from us.
Thank God it is December. Just one month to go and we will move on to 2021, something we all have been waiting for. I don’t understand why people have blamed all the mishaps on the year and not on the human race, but whatever the issue is, we can only hope that 2021 will bring something better. Of course, it is in direct contradiction to the expert warnings that say that 2021 will be worse than 2020 and the famine warnings of Biblical proportions in 2021, but we will look at the glass half full. These things have not happened yet, and we can stop them from happening. Maybe we will if we take lessons from the past years!
Anyway, here is a new morning that 2021 is promising. So, let us look at some things that we know 2021 will definitely bring:
- Reopening of schools and colleges -
Many countries around the world have still not reopened their educational institutions, especially those where students live on the campus. We sincerely hope that the education of students does not suffer anymore, and they get to study in a library and have peer meetings in person (and not on their laptops)!
2. Vaccine
There have been some promising studies in the development of vaccines to curb the spread of Covid-19. We sure are looking forward to a mass manufacture and availability of such vaccines so that we can get back to our normal lives where we can smile and hug our folks without any fear.
3. Meeting Friends:
We are done meeting our friends on video calls. We want to irritate them in person. We hope that 2021 is full of work, parties, and chilling out with friends.
4. Trips
With the pandemic forcing people to stay inside their homes, our traveller friends have suffered a lot. 2021 might better this situation with fewer travel restrictions where people can book homestays or backpacker hostels and enjoy local cuisine without the fear of contracting the dreaded viral infection. Sounds unrealistic? Well, it isn’t! We are sure 2021 will come with a lot of treks and trips for us all.
5. Movies
There are lot of movies like Dune, Fantastic Beasts 3, Mission Impossible 7, West Side Story, Candyman, The Suicide Squad, etc., that are scheduled to be released in 2021. Why shouldn’t we wait for 2021 then?
6. Important Events
2021 is scheduled to host major events like the 2020 Summer Olympics, UEFA Euro 2020, 2021 FIFA U-20 World Cup, the launching of the James Webb Space Telescope, etc. The murder trial for the four police officers involved in the murder of George Floyd is also scheduled to begin in 2021.
We don’t know if 2021 will be any better than 2020, but there are a lot of things we can look forward to. Let us all stay optimistic and work together towards a better and sustainable future. 2021 will be a new morning; a new start. Let us grab it and make all the changes we need.
