Revamping your room from time to time gives the much-needed spark in your life, but more often than not, it is an expensive project. What if someone gives you some tips to get a new room for free? Surprise! We are getting you a new room! Read this blog to change the look of your room without spending any money.
Revamping one’s room is a joy that can’t really be expressed in words. So is the expenditure involved? Why can’t the expenditure be expressed in words? Because no matter what your budget is when you start working on your room, it is always less. You literally cannot say anything about it unless you are done. And you cannot do anything about the money you spent, once it is done. Alright, it is a dilemma. But how can one not revamp one’s room? This is the place that they come home to after a hard day of work; this is where they sleep; this is where they dream! While one’s room is supposed to be the most comfortable place on earth, it helps a lot with one’s productivity if the room is chic and gorgeous. So, worry not. We have got you sorted here, and that too at a low (read, no) budget. Check out these 6 ways to revamp your room without spending a penny!
1. De-clutter and Deep Clean
Removing the additional layer of dust on your furniture, carpets, and spreads can do wonders to your room. You might be cleaning your room daily, but deep cleaning is that wand that will expose the actual colours of all your favourite things. So take out your gloves and sponge and become your own superwomxn as you wash your windows and deep clean your carpets. Additional tip — you can also change your furniture setting for a new look. We suggest you shift the furniture from the walls to the centre of your room to make your room look more inviting.
2. Paint
A paint brush is better than a wand. It creates magic! (Also, spoiler alert, wands are not real. Sobs.) Almost everyone has some leftover paint at their homes. If you don’t have any, we bet you can get some for free from your neighbours. Get that paintbrush and paint your old furniture to make it look new. If you are confident about yourself, you can also paint an accent wall in your room. Painting one or all of your walls will transform your room like nothing else will. We recommend you to paint lighter shades in smaller rooms to give an illusion of more space.
3. Go Green
Remember those beautiful yellow flowers you saw on your morning job today? Well, pick up some fallen ones, place them in a glass dish containing some water and place them on your nightstand. You can also get some wildflowers for free and place them in old vases or glasses, just make sure that you are not allergic to them (poison ivy is beautiful. Stay away!) If you are not okay with the idea of bringing wildflowers inside your house, you can also borrow some seeds or stalks from your friends and plant them in some bottles or pots for a beautiful and affordable revamping of your room. Making nature a part of your room décor will also help you focus better and will give you some clean air for free!
4. Stitch and Sew
If you are good with your thread and needle, you can use your old clothes to make new and chic covers for your throw pillows and cushions. Sew some old buttons on the old ones here and there and go all experimental on them. If you are not a pro, then you can simply attach an old lace on your old curtains to make them look all new.
5. Relive your Memories
We all love to look at the old photographs and go back to the good old days. But photographs don’t just bring back the nostalgia. They can transform your room too. Change the photographs in your old frames and use new photographs to make a DIY collage for your room. You don’t need any expensive frames to do that. Just try arranging them into a beautiful pattern and stick them with some tape on your wall.
6. Lights will guide you Home
Take out your Christmas decorations from the attic and use the fairy lights and string lights to change the aesthetics of your room. We recommend you to use the pale white or yellow strings instead of the multicoloured ones to make your room more warm and inviting. Hang these strings around your curtain on the rod, or tape them on your headboard for a good night’s sleep. You can also push some lights inside wine bottles for that extra gorgeous look!
We hope that these easy hacks to revamp your room will give you a fresh breath of air in your old room. If you do not have the time for any of these hacks but still need a change, you can colour coordinate your books in your bookshelves and add some trinkets or bookends in them. You can also swap your sheets and other items from your guest room to change the look without much effort. Happy revamping!
