Focus on being productive instead of busy!

According to the internet, ‘productivity describes various measures of the efficiency of production.’ However, productivity is more than a definition or how much work you get done in a day. Even if you get tons of work done throughout the day; there is a chance you might not feel productive.

Learning how to be productive, in a day with only a limited amount of hours, is possible. Getting through your day efficiently and gradually is a feeling that is unmatched to any other. To improve your productivity; here are 7 productivity hacks that can turn a blah day into a fruitful day!

Read one email once

Most of us tend to get an email, read it, and end up deciding to read it later. This is a never-ending cycle that will leave your inbox full of unnecessary emails. When you read one email, decide what you want to do with it at that precise moment. Do not leave it for later. It is definitely not easy to follow this through but once you learn it; your life will change monumentally.

Write things down

As soon as you remember something you need to do, write it down. Carry around a little notebook with you or download a digital notes application. Do not let your responsibilities clutter your mind where there is a chance they could get lost. Write everything down!

Make lists

Piggybacking off the previous point; make lists!! Write down everything you need to accomplish that day and get it done! Lists hold you accountable to your duties.

Make your traveling time count

If you do not live near your place of work; that means you have at least an hour or two of traveling time throughout the day. Use this time to be productive. Check your emails, read the news, listen to an informative podcast, etc.

Do not say yes to things that are not possible for you

Oftentimes, we feel we have to say yes to everything that is asked of us. That is not true! If you do not have time to do extra work beyond what you already have planned for the day; say no! You need to set your priorities straight and complete what you need to complete before helping someone else.

Procrastinate properly

Procrastination is a part of our lives and everyone does it. However, to remain productive, you need to procrastinate properly. Productive procrastination is picking up two to three projects. So if one project starts to become boring or monotonous; you can simply jump to a different one. That way you still get work done without unnecessary frustration.

Keep your end goal in mind

Think about what your end goal is and keep working towards that every day. The light at the end of the tunnel will help you keep yourself productive and in the moment.

We hope this blog was informative. Productivity is difficult to achieve; however, once you achieve it, it is the most satisfying thing ever! Good luck!
