Confidence is the feeling of being certain in your intelligence and abilities. If you’re confident, you’re aware of your strengths and how you can use them to your own benefit. You’re likely unafraid of facing setbacks or making mistakes because you trust yourself to do well in the end and believe that you can achieve your goals.
1. Reflect On Your Accomplishments
Your accomplishments show your abilities and progress in your life’s journey. Recalling all the small and large achievements in your life can remind you that you have been strong enough to meet your goals and can achieve even more.
2. Eat healthy And Exercise
There is a relationship between what you eat, how active you are and how you feel. Exercise causes the body to produce endorphins, chemicals in the brain that boost mood. Further, proper nutrition can ensure higher levels of energy, which can help you feel more capable of accomplishing our goals. For greater confidence, consider eating plenty of fruits and vegetables and getting at least 30 minutes of cardiovascular activity every day.
3. Practice Good Hygiene
Good hygiene goes a long way in helping you feel more comfortable with yourself. After taking a shower, brushing your teeth and cutting your nails, you may feel clean, approachable and refreshed, which can contribute to increased confidence in yourself.
4. Put On A Fragrance
Our sense of smell can directly affect our mood and self-perception, and smelling a fragrance that you associate with positivity can cause you to feel more positive. For example, perhaps the fragrance of vanilla warms you and causes you to feel assured. If so, try wearing a vanilla-scented perfume or cologne so that the confidence-boosting aroma stays with you throughout the day.
5. Practice Self-talks
Self-talk is the act of speaking to yourself about yourself, which can lead to a healthier self-image. Even though self-talk may be internal, hearing constructive criticism and affirmations can feel similar to someone else offering you support. To improve your mood and confidence, try to tell yourself at least one thing you did well that day and one thing that you hope to accomplish the next.

Athletes often listen to fast, energetic music before competition to excite themselves for the challenge ahead, and you can do the same with work or whatever else you hope to accomplish. For many people, listening to energetic music can increase self-confidence enough to inspire greater risk-taking behaviour. So, when you need a quick boost in confidence, try listening to your favourite motivational song.
7. Do A SWOT Analysis
SWOT stands for “strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats.” To do a SWOT analysis, write down your greatest attributes and determine how they can compensate for your areas of improvement, lead to positive outcomes and overcome obstacles that might be in the way of your success. By focusing on your strengths, the SWOT analysis can function as a plan for resolving doubt.
8. Visualise Confidence
It can be helpful to imagine yourself as the sort of person you want to be. Picture in your mind a more confident version of yourself, asking yourself how they look, move and interact with others. Then, emulate what you’ve imagined. By playing the role of a confident person, you can convince yourself that you are, in fact, more confident and act accordingly.
9. Keep A Gratitude Journal
A gratitude journal is a diary about the people and things that you are grateful for. Every day, you can aim to make three entries about whatever brings you happiness or comfort. Reminding yourself of all the good things in your life that you are grateful for can establish a sense of well-being that is conducive to confidence.
