Choosing the perfect show to watch with your family can be a tough task — different people have different choices, and reaching a consensus can take days. But worry not; just close your eyes and pick one of these shows for a fun weekend binge-watch!

If you are a TV buff, then there’s nothing better than finding the perfect show to watch with
your family (vacationing and playing UNO come a close second, but come on, chilling on
your couch and watching TV has to win the race!)

So, all you have to do is sit with a bucket of popcorn on your lap and find a common time that suits everyone. We have done the hardest part for you — choosing the perfect show to watch! What are you waiting for? Log in to your OTT accounts. You’ve got a lot of work to do. Here is your “to-do list” of shows:

  1. Modern Family -

This not-your-usual show on an atypical modern family will keep you hooked for good. A highly entertaining show with relatable, imperfect characters, this show revolves around the families of Pritchetts and Dunphys and debunks all the myths. The show is highly inclusive and will make you feel loved, even on a bad day!

2. Schitt’s Creek –

If you are a no drama family, then you will love Schitt’s Creek. In this Canadian show created by a father-son duo, the wealthy Rose family goes bankrupt after fraud by their business manager. The series follows their trials and tribulations as they are forced to relocate to a small town, Schitt’s Creek; their last remaining asset which was bought as a practical joke. What follows is a series of comic adventures of the Rose family with the locals, and their eventual climb to their former glory. This show has everything to offer, and we suggest that you take this one up on a long weekend — there is no way you can stop watching this.

P.S. — You’ll love the characters and your house will become a role-playing zone. The lucky one gets to be Moira!

3. The Middle –

The plot of the show is literally in its title — it is a show about a middle-aged woman called Frankie Heck who comes from a middle-class family, lives in the middle of America, and is stuck in the middle of the chaos that her family is. Well, I “middle” ed a lot, but that is what the show is about. (Bad joke, but worth the risk!) The series will make you laugh as Frankie and her husband, Mike, deal with their daily problems while raising three kids who are poles apart! The show has 9 seasons, but once you get into it, we bet you will want more!

4. Gilmore Girls –

Who doesn’t love a tale about strong, independent women? Add a few romantic interests, a few fancy colleges, some amazing supporting characters, and an authoritative (but loving) set of grandparents, and the already perfect plot becomes stellar! This show originally aired from 2000 to 2007 and if you watch it today, you won’t find the plot unique. What separates this generic sitcom storyline from the bulk is the superb performances by the mother-daughter duo, Lorelai and Rory, and the ever-demanding presence of Lorelai’s mother, Emily.

5. This Is Us –

You will love this show if you love drama and a complicated plot. The USP of this series is its frequent switches from present to past and even to the future! The show revolves around a young couple, Rebecca and Jack, and their three children. Expecting triplets, the couple lose their third child and adopt a destitute child, raising the kids as siblings. The “ Big Three “ and the incidents of their lives as the show unfolds will definitely keep you hooked up for days!

If you haven’t watched these shows with your family, it’s time you did already. If you have already watched and loved these series, then check out this blog on Brooklyn Nine-Nine and watch it asap. Without this show, you are missing one of the best things life has to offer.
