There are some clothing items that we wear regularly, and the funny thing is, all of them happen to be retro trends. Here are five retro trends that never went out of style.

Some things never change, especially styling trends! Some things just can’t be replaced — it’s just not the same. Here are some trends that are still just as popular as they were almost two decades ago:

  1. A pair of Jeans:

Nothing has ever been able to replace a pair of jeans. Not yoga pants, not culottes, and certainly not joggers. We may have gone through a Capri phase, and a “juicy” yoga pants phase and off-late, even a palazzos phase but we always return to a trusted pair of jeans. Jeans are also one of the most unisex pieces of clothing in the world. How could anything ever take its place? It goes with everything!

2. Animal Prints:

Ever seen an animal print go wrong? Nope. That’s because it’s always in style. Leopard prints, snake prints, and crocodile prints have been classics for almost every piece of clothing and accessories. Now, new ideas like zebra prints, feather prints, and even cow prints are trending. Something about animal prints just makes a look more memorable. A slightly bold trend of the late ’90s now turned into a daily staple. It’s always a plus that animal prints go with almost anything, too!

3. Converse:

Founded in the 1900s, Converse has been one of the biggest shoe brands in the world. Almost a century later and they still haven’t left the market. Chuck Taylors, their biggest most loved pair of shoes is still a huge cult favorite. With its neutral design, it’s the easiest pair of sneakers to pair up with just about any outfit. Millennials, Gen Z, and boomers have all grown up with these, and are still spotted wearing them almost on the daily.

4. Floral Prints:

A good old floral print has never gone out of style. For centuries floral prints have ruled the markets, dresses, shorts, t-shirts and now jumpsuits all have adopted the floral print. Not just that, floral prints have even crossed over into non-clothing items like furniture, table cloths, sofa prints, and a whole lot more. Popularized in the medieval ages, the constant upgrades this print has gone through make it wearable even now. Everyone has a staple floral print piece of clothing in their wardrobe and by the looks of it, this trend is here to stay for a long, long time.

4. The Little Black Dress:

Who doesn’t have a little black dress in their closet? A classy, elegant, yet casual piece that you can never go wrong with. Popularized by Audrey Hepburn — the little black dress has made a home in everyone’s heart. Not to mention that it’s possibly one of the most versatile pieces of clothing ever. A fancy dinner, a casual date, a regular brunch — it just about goes with anything and everything!

If you don’t really catch up with new trends, or have the time to stay up to date these timeless pieces will always ensure that you look in-style even when you aren’t trying.
