“When offices and colleges can function smoothly over the lockdown, we can ace this festive season and have fun in virtual ways. If you are out of ideas on what to do this festive season, here are some super-fun ways to have fun.”

Seasons came and changed the time. And just like that, it is the festive season again. One of the most anticipated festivals of the year is right around the corner and this time, It is not the same as ever before. We cannot go out and celebrate with your friends and relatives, we cannot host the most fun house parties and we definitely cannot go out for our Diwali shopping this year. Must this mean that we do not have fun this Diwali? Does this mean that we do not get into the festive mode this time?

Absolutely not. When offices and colleges can function smoothly over the lockdown, we can totally ace this festive season and have fun in virtual ways. If you are out of ideas on what to do this festive season, here are some super-fun ways to have fun.

1- HOST AN ONLINE PARTY- This can sound absurd, we know. But think about it. Festival is simply a mood. It is the joy of getting together with our loved ones. And for the time being, the best option that we have is to get on a video call with everyone that we wish was there. Even though it is not the best-case scenario, it can actually turn out to be quite fun. Especially now when there are interactive video games that can give you the essence of actually being together. Just because you would spend your time indoors, do not compromise on cooking a great feast and wearing your best attires to really get you in the mood.

2- INDULGE IN ONLINE SHOPPING TOGETHER- All the women reading will agree that shopping for a festival is indeed half the fun. So in that case, does it mean that we compromise on the most fun part of a festival? In fact, the lockdown can actually make our shopping experience more convenient and more fun. Indulge in online shopping and really make use of all the festive offers going on. Get your gang of girls together online, share your preferences, exchange opinions, and literally shop together without the hassles of actually going from one store to another.

3- BLAST YOUR SOCIAL MEDIA- It is often said that during a celebration, one must be in the moment and try to put the phone aside. If you are one of those people who get called out of putting every moment and every look on your Instagram and Snapchat stories, your time has come. This Diwali, for the lack of options, blasts your social media with everything about your celebrations, tag the people that you miss, send stories to your loved ones, and receive updates back. This will add to the festive vibe. Watching other people celebrate and having fun will motivate more and more people to make use of the resources available and have as much fun as possible.

4- DIY HOME DÉCOR — Is Diwali ever complete if you don’t sprain at least one muscle in your body trying to clean and decorate your house. This Diwali, it is better to avoid calling for help and getting your house painted or redesigned like people usually do. In fact, this time you can do something more fun and creative with your family. The internet is flooded with DIY home- décor ideas. Especially if you have children at home who will really miss having fun outside, this is a great way to keep them engaged. You can share these videos and ideas with your friends and relatives and maybe even make this into a contest. The simplest things can be made super fun if you put your heart to it.

5- DO NOT FORGET TO SEND YOUR LOVING GIFTS- No festival in India is ever complete if we do not send lovely gifts to our loved ones. We love exchanging our gifts with hugs and conversations. This year, a lot might not happen but it never takes a lot to convey your love for your friends and families. Send gifts online to your people to keep them motivated and in good spirits.

These were some easy ways to not let the festival slip away without making the best of it with what is available to you.
