Foods That Will Keep You Healthy During the Weather Change

The winter season is here, which means one must not only take out the woollens but also stock the kitchen with superfoods to be protected from health issues in this weather change.

Unless you are in Australia or New Zealand, you will feel the chill in the air. The weather is suddenly changing and this means your immunity needs to be stronger to ward off flu and any diseases that can occur due to weather change.

Although the Covid-19 curve is on the verge of declining, it does not mean that you should stop taking care of your immune system. As long as your immune system is strong and healthy, it can fight diseases during weather changes.

Here is a curated list of superfoods you must eat to stay healthy in the changing weather:

1) Honey

Honey is an important superfood to have during the winter season. It keeps the body warm. It also acts as an anti-inflammatory food to soothe down throat or tonsil inflammation caused due to flu. Honey also has antibacterial properties that help to fight infection caused by bacteria. You can take honey in small amounts thrice a day during the change of weather

During the weather change, your bowel system might also change, causing constipation. Your body needs a healthy amount of protein and fibre. Oatmeal serves as the perfect superfood to try which can help you to better your gut and cardiac health. A bowl of oatmeal and muesli with berries can help to reduce cholesterol and combat cardiac ailments.

3) Berries

The winter season means more steak. Red meat is beneficial during weather changes. It has vitamin B12 and iron which keep your body warm. Iron also helps to carry oxygen in the blood, preventing feeling fatigued.

6) Water

Well, we always undermine the usefulness of water. It helps to keep the body functioning in the winter and also regulate its internal temperature. It also prevented dehydration and hypothermia.

7) Nuts and seeds

During winter seasons, we eat a lot more. These munchies do more harm than good. To feel satiated it is better to have a mix bowl of chia seeds, pumpkin seeds, nuts, dry and fruits. It is a combination of fibres and protein that will keep your body warm and prevent munchies.

8) Green Tea

Winter is not fulfilled till you have a cup of tea. But from regular tea try green tea. It has anti-oxidants to strengthen the immune system.
