Let Out Your Inner Artist

How to keep yourself occupied during quarantine!

Amidst the recent outbreak of Covid-19, many of us find ourselves cooped up in our homes. As much as we would like to say it’s voluntary, it’s not. With the dangers of the pandemic and to prevent it from spreading, governments all over the world have shut down schools, offices, malls, restaurants and many more facilities to keep their citizens safe.

Now we find ourselves at loss. We crave a break from our fast-paced lives, we wish for ‘me’ time but now since we have it, we don’t really know what to do with it. Well, during this time of self-quarantine and isolation, take moment to introspect, and spend some quiet time with you. Something which is a rarity in today’s day and age.

If that doesn’t work. Its time to get your creative juices flowing. All of us are filled with creativity and imagination, and what a better time to do it than right now? The first step to letting your creative juices flow in writing. Putting your thoughts down on paper is a form of catharsis. You might have been thinking about something for a very long time, but you might not have had the chance to do it, well now you can. Whether its inner thoughts that you have been wanting to get out or maybe a story idea.

Use Prompts

For those who want to improve their writing, prompts are the way to go. Now, with the access we have to the internet, there are prompts available for those who are stuck in a rut. The daily prompts ensure that you don’t miss a single day of writing, and after a week, you, yourself will be able to see the progress you’ve made. It will also give you a sense of productivity. And you never know, maybe you find yourself writing you want to share with the world.

Draw, Paint, Sketch

For those who love to sketch, paint and draw, but don’t get a chance to do so. This is your time to shine. Pick up that sketchbook and pour your feelings out. Whether it’s a portrait, or maybe a sketch of the books on your bookshelf. There is never a deficit of things to sketch. Look around your homes, you might find something cool to replicate. The painters have an ample amount of time to paint. All you have to do is pick up the brush. You might even surprise yourself with what you create.

This time of quarantine is not easy. Therefore, to keep ourselves active and happy, we all should search for the inner artists in us. Because we all have it. Art is something we are born with. So now, all we have to do is search for it a little. So let your imaginations run wild. And remember to stay safe!
