A romantic or not, this show is meant to make you believe in love!
“Love is always patient and kind; it is never jealous, love is never boastful or conceited; it is never rude or selfish; it does not take offense, and is not resentful. Love takes no pleasure in other people’s sins but delights in the truth; it is always ready to excuse, to trust, to hope, and to endure whatever comes. Love does not come to an end.”
I remember watching “A Walk to Remember”, as a kid. While this feel-good movie made my friend believe in love, I was just touched by the sentiment and forgot about it the next day. However, this quote stayed.
I believe that there are no absolute truths in the world; everything is just a narrative. I was turned into a skeptic by life. Of course, I didn’t really believe in love. Where do we ever see love this unconditional?
Though I have intended this to be a rhetorical question, I think I might have an answer to it! Modern Love, a beautiful show by Amazon Prime Video will show you, true love, make you believe in it, and give you those tears that you have been longing for. (Who knows you might go and tell your crush/love about your feelings for them. At least, I did. I won’t tell you if we are together or not, but I can guarantee that it was totally worth it)!
Okay, TMI but at least you know how beautiful this show (and the feeling you get after watching it) is, right? Contrary to the general expectations, this show is not just about your typical modern-day, metropolitan love among couples. In fact, it is everything that you had not expected it to be. It talks about fatherly love, self-love, a newly blossomed love among old people, the love that stays even when you go away, the love that you don’t even know exists! This show truly talks about love in all its forms.
This series is based on the weekly column published in The New York Times and has eight episodes varying from 29 to 35 minutes in length. The show features an ensemble cast that includes Anne Hathaway, Dev Patel, Tina Fey, Andrew Scott, Cristin Milioti, Ed Sheeran among others. The series has been renewed for the second season as well.
It has something or the other to offer to everyone, no matter what their temperament is like. I guess that is the power of love — it has things to offer to everyone. So, when you sit with a Hazelnut ice-cream tub and a box of tissues while watching these episodes, smiling, crying, and awwing simultaneously, I want you to know that these stories are inspired by real-life incidents presented with some artistic liberty. If you are a fan already, you might want to read this article on the actual subjects of the series and where they are now!
When I started writing this blog, I had planned to give you all a gist of all the episodes but I don’t know if I should anymore. (Do you remember our Fuzia promise of no spoilers?) But we also work towards giving our Fuziaites all that they want, so if you want a description or a review of the episodes, I will write one for you. Just mention it in the comments section below.

P.S. — If you are wondering where the true love of your life is, just look in the mirror. It has always been there with you. You are complete in yourself.
And about that ‘love’ you wish to spend your life with, hang on — they might just be around the corner or maybe waiting in a bookstore, wondering which book to read next. (Wink, wink).
