It is not always the easiest to develop a morning routine especially one which sticks and benefits you as well. To ease your pain a little, we have developed a special morning routine to help you get over the morning blues and have a power-packed day.

Do you identify yourself as a morning person or do you too put off your alarm, toss and turn around your bed and whine about getting up and going through the whole day? I am sure most of us don’t have a morning routine but just a series of mandatory doings we do before we head off for the day. Most people tend to overlook the start of the day aka the most important time of the day, the time which, if tackled wisely, can bring about the best changes in your daily living, your physical health, AND your mental health.
It is not always the easiest to develop a morning routine especially one which sticks and benefits you as well. To ease your pain a little, we have developed a special morning routine to help you get over the morning blues and have a power-packed day.

Wake up at a suitable time

Now I am sure you must have read articles that suggest that one should wake up early but as a matter of fact, you should be waking up as per how early your day starts. This doesn’t mean you oversleep, but you should be sleeping just enough to both rest your body and brain and have enough energy to sail through another day. This is a just simple start to a better day.

Too much or too little sleep is not good for you in any way so instead figure out what waking time suits you the best, especially one which gives you plenty of time in the morning to do other activities and sleep as per that so you get plenty of sleep to wake up fresh and active.

Go for a morning exercise

Now I am not telling you to go full out first thing in the morning but exercise for a minimum of 15–20 minutes. If you’re up well ahead of time, you can hit the gym for a while or just go out for a jog or a run. It all depends on how willing you are to do this as soon as you get up. A 10-minute jog itself will energize you enough to suffice for the entire day.

If you’re too lazy to go out to exercise and still want to do a little something for your body, you can take a couple of minutes out to meditate. This will help you regain your thoughts, build concentration and bring a sense of calm in you. Or you may just do some yoga asanas. Such small yet effective physical activities in the morning will add on to a prolonged period of no crankiness in the morning and you’ll end up feeling fresh all day long.
You can start slow, maybe 10 minutes a day and gradually increase your workout time every day until you get used to an early morning exercise routine.

Drink a health drink or eat a fruit

Now that you have started exercising, or tried to at least, you need to keep up with it through your food intake as well. The first thing you eat or drink in the morning will do wonders for your body. You can have a smoothie or fresh fruit juice in the morning. If you don’t prefer drinking something first thing in the morning then you can just consume fruits like bananas, apples, berries etc. You SHOULD stock up on your nutrients before you head off for a busy day.

Or you can have a cup of green tea or coffee, both of which induce a healthy motion in the body. If you don’t prefer having any of these, you can simply have a glass of warm water with a little honey or apple cider vinegar. These little things, if done every day, will not only regulate your body but also add on to a power-packed day.

Don’t skip breakfast

Believe it or not, breakfast is the most important meal of the day, it kicks off the rest of the day for you. I have seen so many people conveniently skip breakfast because either they don’t have time to eat or they don’t feel like eating in the morning.

I am not a morning person myself but I have realized that skipping breakfast is doing everything except good to my body and mind. Skipping breakfast is a major reason why people tend to feel cranky, irritated, weak and lack concentration while carrying out their regular activities.

While it’s advisable that a heavy breakfast is consumed, what you eat is completely dependent on your capacity and preferences. A complete breakfast ranges across all necessary nutrients and protein intakes.

If you’re not one for a huge spread, you can always go for something light but equally filling like some boiled eggs with a toast on the side or a heavy juice/smoothie with some tossed veggies. If you are too busy to sit and eat, grab something healthy on the go and start off your day on a healthy note.

Eating in the morning will fill you with enough energy to run through all your tasks and keep you pumping for the entire day. You’ll see the difference in your performance throughout the day as well as an increased concentration and memory power.

Make a schedule

One of the healthiest habits you can ever develop is making a schedule. While most of people prepare it a night before, it is a great choice to do the same as soon as you get up.

A schedule or a to-do list is an efficient way to get through your day while also accomplishing your daily tasks.
Making this list first thing in the morning will be easier for you because you can jot down your tasks off the top of your head.

When you make a list like this, your day fairs easier and you don’t lose out on energy trying to remember what all you’re supposed to do. It is also a great idea to scape out your entire day in the morning so you know what to look forward to.

This is a habit you should have nonetheless. No matter how small your tasks for the day are, making a list for the same will regulate things for you in an organized fashion and you will be able to make the most out of the day.

Have a light morning read

A light morning read has been a part of the morning routine for ages. Hence why you always wake up to a newspaper at your doorstep.

This light reading has, over the years, shifted to a social media check. The first thing people grab as they leave their beds are their phones and believe me, their eyes never leave the screen.

But won’t it be a better idea to start your day off with some content of value? And well you need to be updated with what’s happening all around you right.

Reading in the morning helps you develop ideas and think on different lines. It fine-tunes your brain to function better throughout the day. You can always count upon a healthy read in the morning to help with your focus, memory, and concentration as well as your task performing activities.

You can catch up on the headlines or skim through a newspaper but I suggest staying away from the phone for a while, give yourself that break.

People also tend to read a couple of pages of a novel or go through certain blogs in the morning. It’s a great habit to have and continue. While you do so, make sure your reading is light and about topics that leave a positive vibe over you rather than indulging in gruesome reads. Since you have the liberty to choose what you want to start your day with, choose wisely!

Almost all of us have our own morning routine. While some include oversleeping and running to work/college, others include a gym run, a healthy breakfast and an energized day. It is inevitable that everyone wants to have power-packed as well as a productive day and honestly, that is one hard feat to achieve. Even with the best morning routines, this is impossible to keep up with. We often do make a morning routine but adhering to it, stands as the question of the hour. Take small baby steps when starting a routine as such and slowly and gradually, increase the intensity. This routine should soon enough inculcate itself as a part of your day and be more natural to your adaptation. Till then you can follow this routine and even customize it as per your needs. But remember, a morning routine is just a kick start for the rest of your power-packed, energy-filled, productive and mindfully healthy day. Hence, if you haven’t yet, start your day with the most perfect morning routine!
