If you hate winter skin and are looking for ways to enjoy the winter without stressing over skincare, then this blog is for you.

What describes winters the best? Hot chocolate, cookies, ginger tea, and chapped skin! Nothing kills the joy of snuggling with your mom in a blanket like broken skin. Isn’t it irritating when your skin gets all dry and rough and rubs against the pretty woollens? We know it is, but don’t worry, we have got your back. Check out this blog for some ‘cool’ skincare tips and hacks to save you from the ‘cold’. Don’t worry; the hacks are simple and won’t cost you much!

  1. Lukewarm Baths -

We know that a long, hot bath sounds great in harsh winters, but trust us, your skin hates it. Hot water might rip your skin off some essential oils and make it even drier. Use lukewarm water instead and reduce your shower time to 10–15 minutes at the most.

2. Use soft soaps and products -

Do not use a strong soap during winters. Use soft soaps like dove that retain the skin’s moisture. If you want, you can try baby soaps as well. They are made for sensitive skin and will do you good during this season.
While buying your skin products, remember that fragrant products might make you smell good, but they are not essentially good for your skin. Such products contain harsh chemicals that end up making your skin dry and flaky. Use simple products with natural ingredients. You know what? Try Vaseline; it’s magical and is a must-have in every household!

3. Moisturize well -

Moisturizing properly is important. VERY IMPORTANT!

Your skin locks moisture the best when you apply your moisturizer while your skin is still damp. Do not wait for it to dry completely before you get a thick nice coat of moisturizer on your skin. If your skin gets extra dry during winters and nothing seems to be working, try layering moisturizers for a heavy work-day and massage your body with warm coconut oil every night before you sleep.
Also, do not use heavy make-up during winters as they make your skin irritable. Instead, you can try replacing your foundation with a tinted moisturizer this season.

4. Exfoliate -

Contrary to the general opinion of people, exfoliation is important in all seasons. It helps one remove the dead cells and reveal the glowing skin beneath. You can reduce your exfoliating process to just one time a week, but cover your entire body, especially your hands and lips. Be gentle and do not apply much force when you scrub your body. You can also try dry-brushing. Not only does it help remove the dead cells, but it also increases blood circulation. Now this is the ‘buy one get one’ offer you don’t want to miss!

5. Exercise and have a well-balanced diet -

This is the most important hack for healthy skin. A healthy diet helps your skin and body from within and nothing compares to the glow you will get after a nice workout session. Trust us, these will help you save a lot of bucks on anti-aging creams too. Some seasonal vegetables, tasty homemade soups, enough sleep, and a good amount of water will keep you young for long. By the way, did we tell you that these veggies will maintain your iron requirements and give you beautiful nails and a natural blush?

So, spend your money on hot chocolate and marshmallows as you are all set to save some bucks on your skincare regime. Just take it natural this winter and wake up to a soft and supple skin every day. Of course, you can buy multiple skincare products and work on your skin for hours, but why mull over it when you got Vaseline and ghee? (I am directly addressing this line to lazy people like me. If you are tenacious and can follow a more rigorous regime, then do check out this article on some beauty hacks by Insider).

Since you have saved time here, check out this blog on some movie adaptations of books that you must watch if you are a literature lover and do not have enough time to read books. Don’t worry, pal, we’ve got your back!
